The Big Ballet which was founded in 1994, hail from Ural. Each of the 16 dancers in the Corps De Ballet weighs 220 pounds or more and has only one goal: not to lose a single pound.

They thus deliberately and above all self-confidently challenge accepted social standards  in a world where the pursuit of slenderness and beauty has taken on an almost maniacal devotion, they courageously and imposingly prove that grace, elegance, charisma and nimbleness is not the demesne of the ‘thin’. And who says that only a thin ballerina is a good ballerina?

You will be surprised! The dancers proudly present their voluptuous bodies that are surprisingly sinuous, flexible and graceful despite their ampleness. The ladies enchant their audiences with different classical and modern ballet pieces in a hilarious comedy show full of fun and astonishing choreography, proving that you shouldn’t take life, or yourself, too seriously.

They encourage us to accept ourselves just as we are and not to strive for unattainable ideals of beauty, but to enjoy life and simply to have fun. This amusing performance exudes a fascinating authenticity and optimism and is full of vibrant colours. It shows that each moment is unique.
