Sam Phillips opened his Memphis Recording Service studio on January 3, 1950 at 706 Union Avenue, Memphis and in March 1951 Phillips used the proceeds of his produced hit, "Rocket 88", to

fund the creation of Sun Records in February 1952.

2026 sees the show revisiting the blessed recording studio and the legendary label that brought you The distinctive sound we know and love today, crafted from gospel, blues, hillbilly, country, boogie and western swing by musical visionary Sam Phillips.
